Nike Ardilla

Raden Nike Ratnadilla or commonly known as Nike Ardilla (27 December 1975 - 19 March 1995) was a rock singer from Bandung, West Java Indonesia. She died as the result of a car accident in Bandung at the age of 19, right at the top of  her popularity. She was known as "Young Legend". Until now, Nike Ardilla is the most successful singer, movie star, and model in Indonesia show biz history.

With 30 million albums sold worldwide and the prestigious honor of being the only artist under the age of 15 who can sold an album over 2 million copies ever in Indonesia. More than any other single artist, Nike Ardilla was the driving force behind the return of teen pop Rock in the late '80s. Nike Ardilla didn't just become a star—she was a bonafide pop phenomenon. Not only she had sell millions of records, she was a media fixture regardless of what she was (or wasn't) doing; among female singers of the era (many of whom followed in her footsteps). 

From the outset, Nike Ardilla sex appeal was an important part of her image. Men loves her and every women try to be like her. She was a trend setter in Indonesia that moments.

When Nike Ardilla's debut album of titled Seberkas Sinar was released in mid 1989, it entered the charts at number one and stayed there for ten weeks. Once the ubiquitous lead single died down, the album kept spinning off hits: Number one single "Seberkas Sinar," the Top 10 ballad "Cinta Pertama," and the Top 5 "Tembang Asmara." By the end of 1989, Seberkas Sinar had sold 1 million copies, and went on to sell a good three million more on top of that. Its success touched off a wave of young Lady Rocker that included Anggun C Sasmi, Poppy Mercury, Inka Christie, and Mayang sari. Nike Ardilla was a superstar, drooled over in countless magazines. 

By the time, the album Seberkas Sinar finally started to lose steam on the singles and album charts, Nike Ardilla was ready to release her follow-up. Bintang Kehidupan appeared in the spring of 1990, and the title track was an instant smash, racing into the Top Number One. The album itself entered the charts at number one and sold over 500.000 copies in its first week of release, setting a new record for single-week sales by a female artist. Follow-up singles included "Salut," the gold-selling "Putih." A year after its release, Bintang Kehidupan had sold over two million copies. After that so many album had released such as : Nyalakan Api 1991, Matahariku 1992, Biarlah Aku Mengalah 1993, Tinggalah Aku Sendiri 1994, Biarkan Cintamu Berlalu 1994, Sandiwara Cinta 1995, etc. 

She also joined the cast of the film Kasmaran (1986), Kabayan Saba Kota (1988), Ricky Nakalnya Anak Muda (1990), and other movies and sinetron.

Even she has passed away, until now her name still famous in Indonesia and become Indonesian music legend. Her million fans who had joined in Nike Ardilla Fans Club commemorate her death by visiting the grave and the Nike Ardilla Museum in every single year. Most of Indonesian media called her as "THE LEGENDARY ROCK QUEEN".

Nike Ardilla has a stamp publication by two Russian states Abkasia and Tauva in 1996 (the stamp of the world artist among them Michael Jackson, Madonna, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley).  PT. POS Indonesia  also gives a special appreciation with the publication of the postcard and the commemorative envelope of Nike Ardilla death year in the world exhibition of youth philately in 1996.

Krisdayanti

Krisdayanti (born March 24, 1975 in Malang, East Java) is the first Asia Bagus Grand Champion from Indonesia. She then been dubbed as Asia's Nightingale.The first recording that she did was when she was just a 9-year-old girl. For that, she received Rp 15,000 for dubbing the Megaloman soundtrack. Her next album was Burung-Burung Malam. She recorded it at the age of 12. However, her album did not do well. 

During her high-school days, she participated in many singing competitions and modeling pageants. In 1991, she became a finalist in Gadis Sampul, a cover girl contest. It was also during that period she met James Sundah and recorded two songs for him. With that, she began to receive many invitations to sing and model.

It was Youngki Suwarno who brought Krisdayanti to an Asia Bagus audition. There, she felt inferior because of her appearance. The other contestants were decked in glittering show dresses whereas she was simply dressed in jeans and T-shirt.

After her winning, she became a star instantly. With eight albums to her credit and a few singles, she has reached superstardom. She is not only known in her country but around the Southeast Asian region as well.

She married Anang Hermansyah, Indonesian famous song writer, singer and producer, in 1996. They had two kids together, a daughter, Titania Aurelia Hermansyah, and a son, Azriel Hermansyah. The couple filed for divorced in 2009.

Krisdayanti is one of the most successful singer in Indonesia. Her solo albums and  duets with Anang always gain succeed both in selling or awards. Now she joined in trio DI3VA with Titi DJ and Ruth Sahanaya. [source : KD]

Rianti Cartwright

Rianti Rhiannon Cartwright (born September 22, 1983 in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia) is Indonesian actress, model, presenter and VJ. She's best known for her leading role as 'Aisha' in a romantic religious Indonesian hit movie "Ayat-Ayat Cinta"(Verses of Love) in 2008 and become a VJ for MTV Indonesia since 2005.

Rianti born from a Welsh father and Indonesian mother. She's the youngest of two kids (in addition to an older brother). She was born as a Moslem and speaks bilingual (both Indonesian and English). At the age of five her family moved to England until when she's teenager they moved back to Indonesia. She later attended Bandung International School. Rianti graduated from University of Tasmania major in International Business and Marketing.

Cartwright started her career at the age of 16 in modelling before she turned her attention to acting. Cartwright had appeared in many films including "Eiffel I'm In Love", "Jomblo", "Pesan Dari Surga" in 2006, and "D'Bijis" in 2007 along with Indonesian famous actors, Tora Sudiro and Indra Birowo. Rianti  also had been an editor for 'Maxx-M magazine', a local magazine in Bandung.

Kinaryosih

Kinaryosih is an Indonesian model and actress. She was born in Jakarta on March 3, 1979. Kinar -her nickname- started her career in entertainment business as a model. She was the winner of Wajah Femina in 1997. It is her door way to jump in to movie business and reach more popularity.

Her names raised when she starred sinetron Perkawinan Sedarah, a product of Multivision Plus. Other sinetron that she has starred is Indahnya Cinta, Aku Cinta Kamu, Wulan, Jomblo, and many more.

Kinar got her entrance to movies in 2006 when she took a role in film "Betina" directed by Lola Amaria. And then she take role in film "Alexandria" and "Mendadak Dangdut". Kinaryosih won Piala Citra 2006 for The Best Supporting Actress in the movie "Mendadak Dangdut".

Fifi Aleyda Yahya

Fifi Aleyda Yahya is the anchor of Metro TV’s daily news program “Metro Hari Ini”. She also serves as the network’s Talent Manager.

As the daughter of a diplomat, Yahya’s international upbringing prepared her well for her career in television. Born in Jakarta, Yahya lived and attended schools in Kuwait and Pakistan. She has a bachelor’s degree in management from Trisakti University in Jakarta.

In 1995, Yahya won the title of “Miss Jakarta (None Jakarta)” and a one-year promotion contract with the Jakarta City government.

Prior to joining Metro TV in 2001, Yahya worked in public relations with PT. Telstra Nusantara and was an English-language anchor/reporter with TVRI. Her numerous high-profile interviews subjects include political figures Amien Rais, the daughter of former President Soeharto – Siti Hardiyanti Rukmana, and former President Megawati Soekarnoputri.

Asmirandah Zantman (born in Jakarta,  October 5, 1989) is an Indonesian model and actress. Her parent is M. Farmidji Zantman and Sani Suliwati. 

She started her career in entertainment business by starring a sinetron titled Kawin Gantung.And then she become more popular when she starred some  sinetron like Inikah Rasanya? and Cinta SMU 2.

Nadya Hutagalung

Nadya Yuti Boru Hutagalung (born 28 July 1974 in Sydney, Australia), has been a model, film actress, was one of the first VJs on MTV Asia (1995), TV host, MediaWorks artiste, painter and most recently, a jewellery designer. Her father, Ricky (b 1951), is Indonesian (Batak), and her mother, Dianne (b 1950), is Australian.

She married Desmond Koh at the Uma Ubud in Bali on 16 December 2006. She is currently expecting a girl with Desmond, (their first child, her third), and is due to give birth in March 2008.

Before that she had a number of relationships, including two marriages. She has 2 sons, Tyrone (b 1994) and Fynn (b 2003), from previous relationships.

Nadya is an eco-activist, eco-centric jewellery designer and well known personality in Singapore and Asia.

Voted one of Singapore's stylish and most beautiful women, there are few stars in Asia who have generated so much interest than Nadya Hutagalung. Well loved as one of the pioneering VJs of MTV, her work brought her incredible success, celebrity and accolades, entertaining over 70 million households across Asia.
